North American ammonia prices reach nearly $1500 per ton, the highest in over 12 years

Despite natural gas falling to $4/MBTU on December 2, anhydrous ammonia prices rose to $1434, illustrating the price-gouging behavior of American ammonia producers. Until farmers manage to harness photovoltaic and wind resources to electrolyze their own ammonia for water produced from reverse-osmosis, the ammonia industry will continue to price gouge as it enjoys the upper hand.
